How to apply for PR in Canada?

Some of the major immigration programs, that allows you to apply for Canada PR visa from India are as follows –

Express Entry Program: Introduced in 2015, express entry program is a point-based program that manages the profiles of the immigrants who have applied for Canada PR Visa through Canada’s three major skilled economic immigration programs:

With the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), profiles are ranked in the express entry pool, and the highest-ranked profiles are then issued ITA to apply for Canada PR Visa.

Provincial Nominee Program: Every province in Canada with PNP can select skilled immigrants to live in the province as a permanent resident. Every PNP has different requirements like having a job-offer, strong connection to the province, work experience in an in-demand occupation in the province, etc.

PNP provides a much easier pathway to Canada PR Visa for candidates who are not able to meet the higher requirements of the Express entry program. Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination certificate, are awarded 600 CRS points.

Quebec Immigration: Quebec has autonomy in its immigration programs. Quebec has its own requirements that allow them to select skilled immigrants that can help in the economic development of the province. To move to Quebec, you have to get a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), which shows that you have been selected to live as a permanent resident in the province.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot: Launched in 2017, AIPP is an employer-driven immigration program that will allow you to live in the Atlantic region of Canada. Atlantic provinces comprise Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. You require a job offer to be eligible for this immigration program.

Family Sponsorship: Canada has always advocated for family-reunification programs. With the family sponsorship program, you can sponsor your spouses, common-law partners, children, and other dependents like parents and grandparents for a PR Visa.

Entrepreneur Programs: Entrepreneur immigration programs allow the experienced businessmen to own or buy an existing business in Canada. Most PNPs in Canada have entrepreneur immigration programs that will provide you and your accompanying family members to get a permanent residency in Canada.

What are the simple steps to apply for a Canada PR Visa from India?

Applying for a Canada PR Visa through Express Entry program is the best possible way to move to Canada from India. Following are the three simple steps to apply for Canada PR Visa from India –

Step 1: Check your Canada PR Visa points followed by taking an IELTS examination and get your education assessed by WES or any other related.

Step 2: Create your express entry profile through an online portal – Express entry. You will be invited based on your ranking in the express entry pool.

Step 3: With the ITA, submit your Canada PR Visa application to IRCC with all proper sets of documents.

How to calculate your Canada PR Visa points?

You have to score 67 points out of 100 to be eligible for a Canada PR Visa. You can also get extra points if you are moving with your spouse to Canada. Breakage of Canada PR Visa points are as follows:

  • Age – 12 points (Maximum)
  • Education – 25 points (Maximum)
  • Work Experience – 15 points (Maximum)
  • Language Skills – 28 points (Maximum)
  • Adaptability – 10 points (Maximum)
  • Arranged Employment – 10 points (Maximum)
