Depending on their skill sets and requirements immigrants can apply under any of the immigration programs they want to apply under.
Some of the major programs that allow the immigrants to apply for Canada PR Visa in 2019 are as follows: Express Entry Program: It is the fastest way to apply for Canada PR. It is a point-based program that manages the profiles of the candidates of immigrants of who have applied under the following economic immigration program:
Immigrants have to clear the 67 points eligibility point system in order to be able to apply under this program. Candidates are awarded points based on some selection factors like age, work experience, language proficiency, adaptability etc. Once the immigrants are able to clear the 67 points eligibility system they are allowed to apply under the express entry program.
Express Entry program uses a ranking system that awards points to the immigrants profile based on some factors and ranks them accordingly – Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). These points determine the rank of the immigrant’s profile in the CRS. Highest ranked profiles are then given an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for permanent residence visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Once an immigrant gets an ITA, they have 60 days to submit their application to IRCC.

Provincial Nomination Program (PNP): Every province/territory in Canada has their own immigration program that allows them to nominate the highly skilled and capable immigrants to live and work in the province and help in the development of the province. Every provincial nomination program has different requirements and eligibility criteria based on the local labor market demands. There is mainly two ways an immigrant can apply provincial nomination program:
First, is to directly approach the provincial immigration office. Immigrants who want to settle in a particular province can apply directly by creating a profile in their immigration website. Once they have created their profile is evaluated based on eligibility factors. If the profile is selected for provincial nomination, they have to create an express profile and reflect their provincial nomination there.
Second, is via the Federal government’s express entry program. Candidates have to create an express profile and show an Expression of Interest (EOI) and select the province they want to settle in. Then the candidate’s profile is then sent to provincial immigration office where profile will be evaluated based on their requirements and eligibility criteria. If the profile is selected then provincial nomination will be reflected on express profile of the candidate.
In both cases, if the immigrant is able to land a provincial nomination, they are awarded with 600 CRS points. These many points are more than enough to land an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for permanent residence visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Every provincial nomination program has different immigration streams that allow them to nominate special skilled immigrants in a particular work of field. One of the major immigration streams that are found in every provincial nomination program is – Occupation in-demand stream.

If the immigrant have work experience in any of the occupation that is listed in the occupation in-demand list can apply under this stream. Every province regularly updates their occupation in-demand lists and immigrants have to be regularly updated about their occupation to be listed.
