Express Entry Latest Draw 6th March 19

Latest express entry draw held on March 6, issues 3,350 invitations to the candidates who have applied under express entry program for the permanent residence visa. Candidates with the low score as 454 points were issued the invitation.

With this latest draw total number of invitations issued for this year under express entry draw equals to 17,850 invitations which is an increase of 6,350 invitations over the last year invitations of 11,500 ITAs at same period of time in 2018.

Do I Qualify for Canada PR?

2018 was the year which has set the record for the most number of invitations issued in a single year under express entry program – 89,800 ITAs. Federal government has targeted to break that record by giving more admissions to the candidates applied under the skilled economic programs: Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Candidates who have applied under express entry program have to meet certain requirements in order to be eligible to apply under the program. Express entry program uses Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to awards points to the candidate’s express profile based on factors like age, language proficiency, work experience etc. Based on these CRS points, candidate’s express profiles are ranked in CRS and the candidates with the highest rank is then issued the Invitation to Apply (ITA) via which candidates are able to apply for PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Latest express draw sees the CRS score cut-off drop by 3 points to 454 points with the previous draw set the CRS cut-off at 457 points. This drop is mainly because of time interval of two weeks between two consecutive express draws. Less time interval provides with less time to replenish the express pool for skilled and capable immigrants which in turn make the CRS score cut-off to decrease.

In the express draw held on March 6, IRCC has used their tie-break rule. Time stamp used was February 11, 2019, at 17:21:27 UTC. This means that the candidates with the minimum CRS score of 454 points or more and have entered their profile into express profile before the used time stamp of date and time were issued the invitations to apply for PR visa.

In order to increase their chances to get the ITA, candidates have to increase their CRS score. One of the ways to increase the CRS score is to get the provincial nomination. Candidates who are able to meet the requirements of Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) and are able to get the provincial nomination, are awarded with 600 CRS points.

Some of the active Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) that has targeted express entry candidates in the previous two weeks is as follows:

For candidate to be able to apply under above mentioned PNPs, they have to register their profiles via Expression of Interest (EOI).
