MPNP – Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program held its 91st Expression of Interest (EOI) draw on June 4th, inviting a total of 124 immigration candidates for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent resident.
The latest round of invitations issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to the candidates who were eligible for the following MPNP’s categories:
With the 124 LAAs issued in the latest provincial draw, MPNP has issued a total of 2,154 invitations so far in this year. Out of 124 invitations, nine were issued to the candidates in the federal government’s Express entry program.
For the express entry candidates to get a provincial nomination, they are awarded the major boost of 600 CRS – Comprehensive Ranking System points. These many points effectively guarantee the candidate to get an ITA – Invitation to Apply to submit their application for Canada PR Visa to the IRCC – Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
For candidates to be considered for a provincial nomination through MPNP’s Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas, they must submit an EOI to the provincial immigration office.
Candidate’s EOI profile is awarded points based on their credentials like education, work experience, connection to the province, and language proficiency in either English or French. Based on these factors points are awarded out of a total of 1000 points.
In the latest draw, candidates invited under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream had a score of 523. The lowest-ranked candidate invited from the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream had a score of 703.
Skilled Workers Overseas category allows the province to select and nominate foreign skilled workers who can help and support the province’s local labour market. Candidates are required to have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation through one of MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other major requirements.
Candidates who are invited under Skilled Worker Overseas Stream were invited directly by MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
For Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates, they must have a full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible employer of the province, among other major criteria.
Manitoba graduates with certain in-demand skills may be invited under the International Education Stream. This stream includes three sub-categories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot. The MPNP sent out 19 LAAs to International Education Stream candidates in this draw.
