132 Express Entry Candidates with CRS Score Above 400 Invited for Alberta Provincial Nomination

Alberta Provincial Nomination
In their latest provincial draw, the province of Alberta invited Express Entry candidates who have applied for Provincial Nomination for Canada PR Visa, with the draw held on December 5th.

A total of 132 Express entry candidates were invited through Notification of Interest (NOIs), with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 400 points and above.

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) has a stream that is in-line with the Federal government’s Express Entry Program that allows the province to search for skilled candidates in the express pool. This stream is known as Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Express Entry program, a point-based program, manages the profiles of the candidates registered for Canada PR Visa through three major skilled immigration programs:

Once an express entry candidate gets the provincial nomination, they are awarded 600 CRS points. These many points effectively make sure that the candidate gets the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

CRS score requirement of 400 points is much lower than the express draws CRS score cut-offs, thus providing an option to candidates with low CRS score to apply for Canada PR Visa.

Having a job offer from an employer in Alberta is not a mandatory requirement to be eligible, the candidate with following are given priority:

  • A job offer and/or work experience in Alberta
  • A degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer; or
  • A parent, child or sibling already living in Alberta

With the draw held on December 5th, the total number of express entry candidates invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa through AINP has come to 6,752 in 2019.
