Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued a total 190 Notification of Interest (NOI) to through it’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream targeting 14 skilled trades occupation in the draw held on April 29.
The province immigration authorities are contacting the selected candidates today. OINP has selected candidate from the National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes in the provincial draw:
OINP in a media release said, “By choosing priority occupations that are in high demand in Ontario, we’re hoping to make it easier for businesses to recruit top talent in the Skilled Trade sector.”
For a candidate to be eligible to get invited in the draw, they must have a valid express entry profile. If an express entry candidate is able to get a provincial nomination, they are given a major boost of 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, effectively guaranteeing an ITA to apply for PR Visa to the IRCC.
This was the fourth OINP draw this year. Last week the province had an Entrepreneur Stream draw inviting 26 immigrant entrepreneurs to start their business in Ontario. So far in 2020 Ontario has issued 1,440 invitations to candidates in the Human Capital Priorities Stream, and 242 invitations to candidates in the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream.
OINP is currently waiting on the annual allocation from the federal government. In 2019, 6,650 principal allocation were allotted and an additional 700 spots after OINP met their annual allocations in November 2019. In all, OINP invited a total of 7,391 immigrants, which is the largest than any province in Canada in 2019.
