Manitoba invited immigrants for a provincial nomination in the latest Expression of Interest (EOI) draw who have registered under Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program (MPNP) to apply for Canada permanent resident visa.
A total of 242 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued in the latest provincial draw held on Feb 13th, this being the second draw in the last two weeks. LAAs were issued under MPNP’s various immigration stream in the following manners:
Of the total 242 LAAs, 15 were issued to express entry candidates. The express entry program is the main source of skilled immigrants. It manages the profiles of the immigrants who have applied for Canada PR Visa through three major federal skilled economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
With the use of CRS, all the express entry profiles are ranked in the express pool. Highest ranked profiles are then issued Invitation to Apply (ITAs) through frequently held express draws.
15 express entry candidates invited in the latest round of invitations, will be given a major boost of 600 CRS points, effectively guaranteeing the candidate to get an ITA to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
For an express entry candidate to be eligible for MPNP, they must have work experience in an in-demand occupation, among other major requirements. Also, they are required to submit an EOI with MPNP.
MPNP works on an EOI system. Candidates registered under Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas needs to register an EOI with the MPNP. The candidate’s EOI profile is awarded points based on MPNP’s point assessment grid out of 1000 points. These points are awarded based on factors like education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and language proficiency, among other major factors.
Highest scoring candidates in the EOI pool are issued LAAs through frequently held provincial draws. The following score was required for the two skilled worker programs in the latest draw:
Skilled Worker Overseas category allows the province to nominate foreign skilled workers that can help in the economic development of the province. To be eligible under this MPNP’s category, the candidate must have a strong connection to the province such as close family or friends, previous work experience or study experience in the province, or an invitation through one of MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other requirements.
