294 Express Entry Candidates Invited By Alberta for Provincial Nomination with low CRS Score

alberta draw

Province of Alberta invited around 300 express entry candidates who wanted to settle in the province on a permanent basis through provincial nomination and apply for Canada PR Visa.

In order to get the Invitation to Apply (ITA), minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points requirements was of 400 points for express entry registered candidates. Express entry program manages the profiles of the candidates who have registered under Canada’ three skilled immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

For an express entry candidate to land a provincial nomination, they are given a major boost of 600 CRS points. These many points make sure that the candidate is able to get the ITA to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).  Latest express draw held on September 4th set the minimum CRS requirement at 467 points.

Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) has a stream that is in line with Federal Government’ Express Entry Program – Alberta Express Entry Stream. This stream allows the province to search for candidates in the express pool with work experience in an occupation that supports the province’s “economic development and diversification priorities” or are having strong ties with the province.

Alberta does not release a list of eligible occupation, but prioritize is given to candidates with:

  • A Job Offer and/or work experience in Alberta
  • A degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer; OR
  • A parent, child or sibling already living in the province

Other than these factors there are also some factors that can decrease the likelihood of a candidate receiving an ITA, and these factors are:

  • An Express Entry profile that expires within three months of draw
  • Occupation those are listed in Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations List

With this latest provincial draw, province of Alberta has now issued a total 5,236 ITAs to Express Entry candidates in 2019 via a total 23 provincial draws held up to this date.

AINP has invited candidates with low CRS score, with minimum CRS score required dropped to 300 points on four occasions since the creation of the stream in June 2018. In total four occasions, AINP has invited candidates with minimum CRS score required of 301 and four selected candidates with CRS scores of 302 and above.
