August 8th, 2018 saw the latest Express Entry Draws in which the IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada) announced a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 440 points for eligibility for the Permanent Residency(PR) status of Canada. Which means that all the candidates who secure 440 points or above are considered fit to apply for the Permanent Residency(PR) status. There were a total number of 3,750 applications which were issued by the IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada) with this Express Entry Draw.
Key points of the Express Entry Draw are:
It is the second time in the row that a score as low as Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points 440 was announced by the IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada) and it is the lowest score in all programs so far in 2018. Further, a pattern seems to have been developed with respect to the number of applications issued since June 13th 2018, as it is the fifth time that 3,750 applications have been issued this year.
Also, the tie break rule will be applied this time as well, which means all those candidates who have 440 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points or above and they had submitted the application before the specified date and time, will be selected for the ITA (Invitation to Apply). Those candidates who have been in the pool for the longer period of time will be given preference over the others.
So far the IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada) has issued 50,950 ITA (Invitation to Apply) in the year 2018 and it is only 335 less ITAs(Invitation to Apply) then in 2017 which were 51, 285.
There were 86,023 ITAs (Invitation to Apply) issued in 2017 which was a lot more than 2015 and 2016. Hence, it could be assumed that with every passing day more and more people are getting selected for immigration to Canada and all because of the Canada Immigration Plan 2018 – 2020, which aims to invite 9,80,000 new Permanent Residency(PR) status holders by the end of the year 2020.
