9th express entry draw 2018

Lowest cut off this year for the Express Entry, 440 CRS score announced.

The tenth Express Entry Draws conducted by the IRCC (Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada) on 23rd May, 2018 asked the applicants for a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 440 points, which means all the candidates with 440 Points or above are eligible to apply for the Permanent Residency (PR) status in Canada. This Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score witnessed a drop in the point requirement from the ninth Express Entry Draw which was released on 9th MAY, 2018 in which 441points were required by the candidates.  Further, with the announcement of this scorethe IRCC has also issued invitations to apply(ITA) to 3,500 applications and it has brought the total number of invitations this year to 31, 500.

Key points of the Tenth Express Entry Draw are:

  • The Express Entry Draw was opened on 22nd May, 2018 to 23rd May, 2018
  • Usual Trend of Express Entry Draws released after 15 days followed.
  • Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score asked is 440 points or above
  • IRCC invited 3,500 Candidates in this draw

Tenth Express Entry Draws – 23rd May, 2018

The IRCC (Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada)has shown a sort of pattern or structure in the invitations issued in the last few months as it is a consecutive fourth time that 3,500 applications are invited by the IRCC. Further, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut off of 440 points as the threshold for eligibility is the lowest benchmark requirement this year so far and has brought a fresh ray of sunshine for the aspiring candidates.  As it has happened in recent draws as well, a tie- break would be applied this time as well, in which those candidates who have been in the Express Entry Pool for a long period of time will be given priority above the fresh applicants specially those candidates will be considered whose Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) points are 440 and above.

Important information for the aspiring candidate

As a smart candidate it is good to be aware with the latest update and information related to the immigration to Canada –

  • The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is out of 1200 and it is a benchmark for eligibility for the aspiring candidates.
  • Canada Immigration Plan for 2018 – 2020 states that immigration to Canada should see an increase in the number of immigrants through Federal Skilled Workers Class, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Traders Class by the year 2020. In the next three years the total number of immigrants in Canada is expected to be around 2,50,000. Thus, there is a chance that more invitations will be issued in the coming months.
  • To enter the Express Entry pool, it is important that the candidate applies through Federal Skilled Workers Class or Federal Skilled Traders Class
  • There is an additional 600 points allocation to the candidates who receive Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through the Express Entry alliance.
