In the latest BC PNP Tech Pilot draw, a total of 87 candidates have been issued invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa on June 9. Candidates were invited through BC PNP’s two categories: Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration.
The minimum score required for each of the categories was set at 82 points.
For candidates to receive an invitation through Express Entry BC, they are required to have a profile in the federal government’s Express entry program. Express entry program is the main source for skilled immigrants moving to Canada. It ranks the profiles of the immigrants in the express entry pool based on their CRS – Comprehensive Ranking System score.
Any express entry candidate who is able to get a provincial nomination certificate is awarded a major boost of 600 CRS points. These many points effectively guarantee the candidate to get an ITA – Invitation to Apply in the next round of invitations.
BC PNP recently announced that it was extending its Tech Pilot for another year until June 2021. The pilot provides foreign technology workers with a job offer in one of 29 professions. The offer of employment must last at least one year and there must be at least 120 days in the offer of employment at the time the candidate submits his or her application to British Columbia.
