Province of Manitoba invited a total of 99 immigrants candidates who have applied for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residency on the latest provincial draw held on May 21.
Invited candidates have applied for a provincial nomination through Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Stream.
Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued in the following manner through MPNP’s categories:
MPNP has issued a total of 2,030 LAAs so far this year.
Of the total 99 LAAs issued, nine were issued to the candidates with profiles in the federal government’s Express entry program. Candidate’s profiles in the express entry program are ranked in the express entry pool with the help of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). CRS awards point to the express entry profiles based on the candidate’s credentials like age, language proficiency, work experience, etc.
Highest ranked profiles in the express entry pool are then issued Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination, are awarded major 600 CRS points.
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream provides a path to permanent residence for eligible temporary foreign workers in the province and international graduates from Manitoba post-secondary institutions.
To be considered, applicants must work in Manitoba and have a permanent full-time job offer from their employer, among other criteria.
Applications for a Manitoba provincial application through this channel are sent to applicants who have registered an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.
An EOI is an online profile with a score of 1,000. Points are awarded for education, work experience, links to Manitoba, and proficiency in English or French, among other major factors.
Skilled workers’ EOIs profiles are assigned a score of 1,000 points and the highest-ranked profiles receive LAAs.
The lowest-ranked Manitoba skilled worker candidate selected in this draw had a score of 485 points.
Applicants selected under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream were invited directly as part of a strategic recruitment initiative, which may include overseas recruitment missions organized by the MPNP, often in association with employers in Manitoba. Applicants in this stream are also ranked using the Manitoba EOI rating system.
Applicants from overseas skilled workers needed a score of 613 points and above to be eligible for an LAA at the May 21 EOI draw.
Manitoba graduates with certain required skills can be invited to the International Education stream. This component includes three sub-categories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.
The MPNP sent 12 LAAs to candidates in the International Education component during this draw. No minimum EOI score was required.
