Province of Alberta released the details of the latest provincial draw held on March 4th, that sees a total 100 candidates with their profile in the Express entry program with the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300 points invited to apply for a provincial nomination through Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).
Candidates who were issued Notification of Interest (NOI) in the draw, do not require a job offer to be eligible but they must have a profile in the federal government’s express entry program.
Introduced in 2015 to manage the profiles of the immigrants who have applied for Canada PR Visa through Canada’s three major skilled economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Express entry program uses CRS to rank the profiles in the express entry pool.
Profiles are ranked according to their CRS score that is awarded based on the candidate’s credentials like age, language proficiency, work experience, etc. The highest-ranked profiles are then ITAs to submit their application for PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) through frequently held express draws.
If an express entry candidate is able to get a provincial nomination certificate, they are awarded major 600 CRS points to their overall CRS ranking in the express entry pool.
Express entry candidate needs to be working in an occupation in the province of Alberta that supports the province’s “economic development and diversification priorities” to be eligible for AINP.
There is no list of eligible occupations provided by the AINP, but priority is given to the candidates who meet the following criteria:
In this year 2020, AINP has invited a total of 751 Express entry candidates so far.
