International students in Canada are now allowed to work full time if they are given full employment in essential services.
The Canadian government has recognized that international students who are already living in a country have the ability to help the challenges presented by COVID 19. That is why restrictions have been temporarily removed that regulate the limits, international students, from working 20 hours per week while classes are in session.
Canada’s Immigration minister, Marco Mendicino, said in a release,” Immigrants, temporary foreign workers, and international students are making important contributions as frontline workers in health care and other essential service sectors. We know and value their efforts and sacrifices to keep Canadians healthy and ensure the delivery of critical goods and services.”
This change applies to study-permit holders who are currently working in industries that are considered to be critical in ensuring the health, safety, security, or economic well-being of Canadians.
