IELTS and CELPIP have significantly increased their operations in recent weeks, as countries around the world have lifted restrictions on coronaviruses.
Those wishing to take an English test to help them obtain a Canada PR visa can now access more IELTS and CELPIP test dates.
The Canadian government accepts general IELTS or CELPIP training for those who wish to submit an Express Entry profile or obtain permanent residency through other federal or provincial components, such as the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Since March, it has been difficult for applicants to immigrate to take this important step because the operators of IELTS and CELPIP have complied with government regulations around the world. As part of COVID-19’s global containment efforts, the governments of Canada and abroad have demanded that non-essential services cease operations.
In recent weeks, governments in Canada and around the world have relaxed these restrictions, which benefits IELTS and CELPIP test candidates.
IELTS Opening Centres
Frome June 15, candidates can take IELTS which is opening in 72 countries. Some of the major immigrant’s source countries to Canada where IELTS will be available are as follows:
IELTS is available in many other countries, including Canada.
International students, temporary foreign workers, and other temporary residents and visitors currently in Canada can now book their IELTS in the country’s provinces, including Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
India is by far the main country of origin for immigrants to Canada, and IELTS is now available in much of India.
Benefits of Submitting Immigration Applications Now
Completing an IELTS or CELPIP has been the last major obstacle for many people who have wanted to submit an Express Entry profile or an immigration application in the past few months.
Once your test is complete, it is in your best interest to complete the submission process as quickly as possible.
If you are outside of Canada, you can get a provincial nomination which will effectively guarantee that you will eventually get permanent residence. Since mid-March, various provinces have held regular PNP draws and have issued provincial nominations to candidates outside of Canada.
In addition, IRCC – Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada will eventually organize draws for applicants to the FSW – Federal Skilled Worker Program and FST – Federal Skilled Trades Program and it is in the best interest of a candidate to be part of the Express Entry pool when it resumes.
If you are in Canada, you can obtain an invitation to apply for permanent residence under Express Entry in the days following the submission of your profile. Express Entry draws have focused on Canadian Experience and PNP applicants in recent months and cutoff scores have since dropped to the lowest level since 2017.
