CRS Cut off of 446 points

in the latest Express Entry Draw

There has been a spurge of good news for those aspiring to Immigrate to Canada with a PR status. The launch of 6th Express Entry Draw has asked for a reduced 10-point score from candidates that the last time. The CRS score cut off required is 446 points. Further, this time the draw was conducted earlier than expected by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the rules and regulations governing body for the Canada immigration.

Key Points with respect to the Draw are as follows:

  • Draw opened from 26th March 2018 to 27th March 2018
  • The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score requirement was 446 CRS points or above.
  • IRCC invited 3,000 applications in this draw

Latest EE Draw released earlier than expected

The latest Express Entry Draw was released on March 26, 2018, which is unusual as the trend of draws being released in 15 days was not followed by IRCC this time. Before this the Express Entry Draw was released on 14th March, 2018 and this time the standard fortnightly time gap trend was not followed and the Draws were released earlier than expected i.e. after 12 days. Also, in the draw prior to this one, there was a slight delay in the announcement of draws and this time on the contrary it was an early announcement.

How is this draw different than the last one?

This draw has brought with it the good news of low score points asked from the candidates. As compared to last time the scores saw a reduction of 10 points in the requirements for Canadian PR status. In the last draw of 14th March the qualifying marks were 456 which got reduced to 446 in the latest draw.

The latest development on the number of candidates Invited

It is speculated that a total number of 3000 candidates will receive ITA this time from the Government of Canada and those candidates who have been in the pool for a long period of time will be given preference. Moreover, there has been a trend in the number of applications invited by the IRCC as continuously fourth time in a row there has been 3000 invitations sent. Probably, it is in line with the Canada Immigration Plan for 2018- 2020 according to which Government of Canada is looking to invite more applications through Federal Skilled Workers Program, Canada Experience Class and  Federal Skilled Traders Program with 1,84,000 PR Status allotted by 2020.

How can you increase your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score?

The most convenient way of increasing your CRS score is by undergoing IELTS test and performing really well in that test. A high score in IELTS examination will increase your points and help you increase your options for immigration. Further, good work experience in a profession of high demand is also another way of scoring well in the CRS points.
