Express Entry And Occupation In-Demand Stream Candidates Invited By Saskatchewan

Province of Saskatchewan held two provincial draws that invited a total 150 candidates who have applied for a provincial nomination through Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program’s two subcategories – Express Entry and Occupation in-demand to apply for Canada permanent residence visa.

With the use of SINP’s unique Expression of Interest (EOI) points grid to rank the candidates who have applied under Express Entry and Occupation in-demand stream.

Of the total 150 invitations issued, 45 invitations were issued to express entry candidates and 105 invitations to Occupation in-demand registered streams.

For to be eligible to get the invitation in these latest round of provincial draws, candidates need to score minimum Saskatchewan Expression Of Interest (EOI) score of 78 points. These points are awarded based on the factor that includes education, skilled work experience, language proficiency in either English or French and connection to the province of Saskatchewan. Highest scoring candidates have issued the invitations through regularly held draws from the pool.

SINP’s Express entry stream is in-line with the Federal government’s Express Entry program that allows the Province to search for the skilled immigrants in the express pool to help in the development of the province. Express Entry candidates who are able to meet the requirements of SINP can get selected for the provincial nomination.

For an Express entry candidate to land a provincial nomination, it awards them with 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. With most of the Express draws requiring more than 400 points, 600 points make sure that the candidate is able to get the Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Under Occupation in-demand stream of SINP, having a job offer is not mandatory but a key eligibility requirement for both express entry and occupation in-demand stream candidates is to have work experience in one of the 19 occupations that are in-demand in Saskatchewan.

Through its Occupation in-demand stream, SINP has issued a total 1,789 invitations and through express entry stream a total 1,315 invitations so far in 2019. In the latest draw of August 15th, there is a significant decrease in the number of invitations issued (150) from the previous draw of July 24th which issued a total of 381 invitations.
