Latest draw by Ontario immigration office invited the candidates who have registered under the federal government’s express entry program for permanent residency via Skilled Trades Stream held on March 21.
Express entry candidates who have submitted their express profile between March 21, 2018 and March 22, 2018 were issued total invitations – 361. Express entry is a point-based program that manages the profile of the candidates who have registered under the three Canada skilled economic programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Candidates who are able to land the provincial nomination successful are awarded 600 CRS points. These many points are more than enough to land the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Ontario’s provincial nomination program – Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) allows the province to invite the skilled immigrants for permanent residency in the province. OINP’s Skilled Trades Stream allows them to search for the capable immigrants in the express pool of the express entry program under Federal Skilled Worker Class and Canadian Experience Class. Candidates need to be currently living in the province with a minimum of one-year full-time work experience or its equivalent in part-time work. Work experience must be in an occupation that is listed in skilled trade listed in Minor group 633 or Major Group 72, 73 or 82 under the Canadian government’s National Occupational Classification (NOC).
In order to be eligible under the Skilled Trades Steam, candidates do not need a job offer but they do need to meet the entire mandatory federal and provincial requirements that are mentioned by Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
For the year 2019, OINP has now issued a total of 732 invitations to the express entry registered candidates via the Skilled Trades Stream.
