9th express entry draw 2018

How much time does the candidate has to get the document in order after the ITA (Invitations to Apply)?

The IRCC(Immigration Refuge and Citizenship Canada) made a major change in the Immigration proceedings recently with the deadline for Express Entry candidates to apply after they have received an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Permanent Residency(PR) status of Canada has been reduced to 60 days from 90 days. As announced on 26th June, 2018, the candidates will have only 60 days after the ITA(Invitation to Apply) to fulfil the documentation part of the application.

Although the candidates who have applied for the Permanent Residency(PR) status of Canada before 26th June, 2018 will still have the time limit of 90 days after the ITA(Invitation to Apply). The changes have been made for the applications submitted in the Express Entry Pool after 26th June, 2018

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THE PR STATUS OF CANADA?

Express Entry Program

Express Entry Program is a selection procedure designed to invited skilled candidates in Canada and the evaluation of the candidate is done on point measurement basis. The candidates’ score is calculated through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) tool and the candidates who secure the minimum the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points requirement as announced by the IRCC (Immigration Refuge and Citizenship Canada) through the Express Entry draws are sent ITA (Invitation to Apply).

How does the ITA (Invitation to Apply) process Work? After receiving the ITA (Invitation to Apply) the candidate are allotted a time frame for complete submission of the documents and file an electric application in the meantime. This time period has been reduced to 60 days now as opposed to the previous 90 days’ timeline. The documents that need to submitted in this time are –

  • Letter of Explanation(LOE) – The candidate can introduce himself through this letter.
  • Scanned Copies of passport
  • Scanned copies of all educational documents
  • Marriage certificate (for married candidates)
  • Work experienceletters from all the previous employers
  • Photographs
  • Birth certificate of kids (If you are migrating with family)
  • IELTS scorecard
  • Medical records of the candidate
  • Police verification records
  • Proof of funds (submitted as a single file) – bank statements, bonds, debentures etc.

Since the time is reduced for submission of documents it is advisable that the candidate start with the process of collection and filing of the documents even before receiving the ITA (Invitation to Apply) so that no time in wasted after the ITA (Invitation to Apply) is received.
