Latest Alberta Draw Invited Express Entry Candidates With CRS Score As Low As 300

Latest Alberta Draw Invited Express Entry Candidates

Province of Alberta issued a total of 262 Notification of Interest (NOI) for their express entry linked provincial nomination stream. Express entry candidates with CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score as low as 300 were issued NOIs in the draw held on June 21st.

With the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) stream linked with federal government’s Express entry program, it allows the province to search for the skilled candidates in the pool of the candidates who have registered under Canada’s three Federal High Skilled immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

For an express entry candidate to land a provincial nomination, it awards them with 600 CRS points. These many points make sure that the candidate is able to get the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). AINP’ express entry linked stream allows the candidates with low CRS score to apply for provincial nomination.

In the latest draw by AINP, a cut-off score of 300 is significantly lower than the CRS score cut-offs of the express entry draws. The lowest score in this year 2019 was 332 and that was for the Federal Skilled Trades-only draw on May 15 and the lowest CRS score cut-off for all program express draw was 438 points.

Some of the eligibility criteria for the AINP’s express entry linked stream for the candidate are to be working in an occupation that supports “Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities”. Having a job offer or previous work experience in the province is not mandatory but priority is given to candidates with:

  • A job offer and/or work experience in Alberta
  • A degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer; OR
  • A parent, child or sibling already living in Alberta

This latest draw has brought the total number of invitation to the express entry candidate who has applied for a provincial nomination for Canada PR through Alberta Express Entry stream to 3,816 invitations.
