Latest Draw of SINP Invites Express Entry and occupation In-Demand candidates for PR visa

A total 202 candidates who have applied for provincial nomination of Saskatchewan for Canadian permanent residence visa having work experience in seven occupations were invited in the latest SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) draw held on May 1.

The draw mainly targeted candidates with the help of SINP’s sub categories: Express entry and Occupation in-demand. Candidates with work experience in seven occupations that were also listed in-demand list of Saskatchewan province were invited. These seven occupations with their respective National Occupation Classification (NOC) code are as follows:

NOC Code

Occupation Title

Managers in social, community and correctional services

Conference and event planners

Medical sonographers

Instructors of persons with disabilities

In order to be invited under the latest draw, having work experience in occupation that is listed in the in-demand list is mandatory for both SINP’s express entry and Occupation in-demand sub-categories. But having a job-offer is not required.

In the draw (May 1), candidates having work experience in specific occupations were targeted and were issued the invitation. This is the second time Saskatchewan province has targeted the specific occupation in the labor market. Previous draw that was held on April 17, targeted candidates with work experience in four in-demand occupations, all of which were removed from the occupation in-demand stream.

Latest draw also sees SINP update their occupation in-demand with an occupation being removed from the list – Conference and Event Planners (NOC 1226). Third time SINP has modified their Occupation in-demand list since the start of the month of April.

Express entry candidates were also invited via SINP’s express entry sub category. Express entry manages the pool of the candidates who have registered under Canada’s three skilled immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Express entry candidate who is able to land the provincial nomination are awarded with 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. These many points are more than enough to land the Invitation to Apply (ITA) that allows applying for Canada PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

For to be in consideration to get the invitation under Express entry and Occupation in-demand sub category, candidates have to create and submit Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to the SINP. EOI profiles of the candidates are then evaluated based on factors like educational qualification, work experience, age, language proficiency and any connection to the province of Saskatchewan (family, work or study). Highest scoring profiles are then drawn from the pool and are issued invitation to apply for provincial nomination for Canada Permanent Residence via these regularly held draws.

Lowest-scoring candidates that were invited via the latest draw under express entry and occupation in-demand sub categories had a score of 67 points.
