Latest Express Draw Invites 3,200 Express Entry Candidates for Canada PR Visa
New Express Draw held on December 11th invited a total of 3,200 candidates to apply for Canada PR Visa registered under Express Entry Program.

Express Entry Program, Canada’s main source of skilled immigrants, is a point-based system. Introduced in 2015, it manages the profiles of the candidates registered under three main skilled immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). All the profiles are submitted together in the express pool.

With the help of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), points are awarded to the express profiles. CRS points are awarded based on factors like education, skilled work experience, age and proficiency in English or French.

Higher ranked profiles are then issued the Invitation to Apply (ITA) through regularly held express draws. ITA allows the candidates to submit their application for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This express draws mainly takes place within a time interval of two weeks.

In the latest express draw, the minimum CRS score required was 472 points. IRCC used their tie-break rule with the time stamp used set on December 6, 2019, at 03:03:49 UTC. This means the candidates who have entered the express pool before the used time stamp and have the minimum CRS score of 472 points, were issued ITAs in the express draw held on December 11th.

With these 3,200 ITAs, a total of 82,100 ITAs has been issued in 2019, which is just 7,700 ITAs short from the previous record-making year of 2018’s – for the most number of ITAs issued in a single year.

The federal government of Canada has implemented its three-year immigration program to increase the admission rate for skilled immigrants for the upcoming year 2019, 2020 & 2021. For Express Entry admission is to increase from 81,400 to 85,800 for 2019. Also, the admission rate for Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) is also set to increase from 61,000 to 67,800 ITAs in 2020.

Out of Canada’s ten provinces, nine of them including two territories have “enhanced” streams under respective PNPs which mean express entry candidates are also able to apply for provincial nomination. For an Express Entry candidate to land a provincial nomination, their CRS score is given a major boost of 600 CRS points. These many points are more than enough to get an ITA.
