Latest Express Entry Draw Invites 385 PNP Candidates for Canada PR Visa

Latest Express Entry Draw Invites 385 PNP Candidates for Canada PR Visa

Latest program-specific Express Entry draw invites 385 express entry candidates with a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa on May 27.

IRCC just held its latest express entry draw inviting a total of 385 express entry candidates who already have a provincial nomination in the May 27 round of invitations.

Express Entry candidates who are able to get a provincial nomination, are given a major boot of 600 CRS – Comprehensive Ranking System points. That’s why the minimum CRS requirement in this latest express entry draw was set at 757 points. Without the additional points for the provincial nomination, the required points based on the human capital factor were at 157 points.

Since the travel restrictions, this is the sixth program-specific express entry draws. IRCC has been alternatively targeting Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates and express entry candidates with provincial nomination through the express entry draw.

Express Entry draws that have been targeting CEC candidates have much fewer CRS score requirements, with the last CEC-targeted express entry draw having the CRS score cut-off set at 447 points, which is also the lowest CRS score requirement since January 2019.

IRCC used their tie-break rule in this draw, with the timestamp used to set on April 27, 2020, at 10:19:01 UTC. This means the candidates who have entered the express entry pool before the used time-stamp and had the minimum CRS score of 757 points were issued Invitation to Apply (ITAs) to apply for Canada PR Visa.

So far, immigration targets are expected to exceed last year’s levels. Even with travel restrictions in place, there have always been more ITAs issued this year than at the same time in 2019. To date, May 27, a total of 38,585 Express Entry applicants have been invited to request the permanent residence in 2020.

Canadian immigration is managed by the federal government. Express Entry is the government’s immigration application management system for three economy class programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), and the Canadian experience class (CEC).

Those eligible for one of these programs submit their profile to the Express Entry pool, where they receive a CRS score based on their human capital factors such as age, work experience, education and skills, language proficiency in English or French. The highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for permanent residence through regular Express Entry draws.
