Applicants from the Federal Skilled Worker Program were among the successful applicants today for the third consecutive draw.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in this last round of invitation was 471, a decrease of 1 point from the last all-program draw, which took place on September 16.
A large number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued today is a clear sign that Canada remains committed to welcoming high levels of immigration into 2021 and beyond.
Canada’s Express Entry system manages candidate profiles for three of Canada’s major economy class immigration programs – the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
In the Express Entry system, eligible applicants for FSW, FSTC, CEC, and certain Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants are scored based on the Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS.
The CRS takes several factors into account, including age, work experience, education, and proficiency in English or French. The highest-ranked applicants in the Express Entry pool receive an ITA and, at that time, they can apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Canada has now sent 78,350 ITAs so far in 2020, which is far higher than the 69,420 that were issued at the same time in 2017, another record year for Express Entry.
The last draw saw the tie-breaking rule implemented on March 2, 2020, at 12:37:25 UTC. This means that all applicants with a CRS score of 471 and above who submitted their profile before this date and time received an ITA in this round of invitation.
The final invitation round was the 164th Canada Express Entry draw organized by IRCC. It was also the 31st draw of the year and the fifth draw for all programs since Canada went into lockdown on March 18.
While the vast majority of Express Entry draws typically involve applicants from all three programs, since the onset of the pandemic and the introduction of travel restrictions, IRCC has begun to make exceptions to this rule. Between March and early July, IRCC alternated between the draws for the CEC and PNP programs, but the number of ITAs for the two draws combined is typically 3,900 invitations.

Before initiating the immigration process, I was a bit skeptical, however, after having a word with their consultant who explained the whole process to me over the phone without trying to sell their service, I felt assured. All the case managers at Nationwide Visas are well-versed with the process and never fall short of expectations whenever I walk up to them with any queries.
