Latest Express Entry Draw saw a decrease in five points, the score cut off is 440 points

Express Entry Score - 15th October 2018

In the latest Express Entry Draw released on 15th October, 2018, the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score asked from the candidates settled at 440 points. That means all the candidates who secured 440 points or more are selected for the Permanent Residency(PR) status of Canada. This draw saw large number of invitations being sent as a total of 3900 Express Entry candidates applications were sent invites in this draw.

 

Key points of the latest Express Entry Draw are:

  • The Express Entry Draw was opened on 15th October, 2018 to 16th October, 2018
  • Usual trend of Express Entry Draws released after 15 days was not followed. The Draws was announced in 12 days gap.
  • Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score asked is 440 points or above
  • IRCC invited 3,900 Candidates in this draw

The latest Express Entry Draws – 15th October, 2018

The previous Express Entry Draw that released on 3rd October, 2018 saw the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 445 points and compared to that the latest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score has seen a drop by five points with the score being settled at 445 points. It is the fifth time this year a low that Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 440 was set as the cut-off. Just like all the other times, this time as well the tie-break rule was applied w.e.f 18th September, 2018 at 11.06.29 UTC. This means that all the applications who had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 440 or above and submitted their applications on or before 18th September, 2018 are eligible to receive an ITA (Invitation to Apply). Further, may be the draw was announced early could also be the reason that a low score was announced in the draw as a reduction in score can happen when the draws are announced earlier than expected.

 

The Express Entry Draw so far – 2018

With the announcement of the 15th October 2018 Express Entry Draws, there have been a total of 70,300 ITAs being issued by the Government of Canada, which is slightly less than the number of ITAs being issued by the Government of Canada in 2017 which were 72,221. However, it is the fifth time this year that score as low as 440 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points were announced by the IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada)
