Latest Invitation Round For Prince Edward Island Sees 113 Invitations Issued To Express Entry Candidates

Latest draw held on June 20 by Prince Edward Island sees them inviting 113 immigrants registered under PEI PNP’s Express entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact categories.


Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has been most active PNP’s in Canada and that helped them achieve a population growth rate of 1.8% in 2019.


Candidates who want to reside and work in Prince Edward Island as a permanent resident can apply for a provincial nomination through PEI’s Express entry or Labour Impact categories. This latest draw issued a total of 106 invitations to the candidates registered under these two categories.


Express entry subcategory of PEI is in line with the federal government’s express entry program. For an express entry candidate to get a provincial nomination, they are awarded 600 CRS points. These many points guarantee the candidate to land an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).


For a candidate to apply under both of the sub-categories: Labour Impact and Express entry, they are first required to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with PEI PNP. This EOI profile is then given scores that are based on factors like age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other major factors. Highest ranked profiles have then issued the invitations to apply for a provincial nomination through regularly held draws by Prince Edward Island.


Under PEI’s Business Impact sub-category total of 7 invitations were issued. This sub-category allows foreign entrepreneurs who are having work experience of managing the business to run their own business in the province.  Candidates who are able to get an invitation through PEI’s work permit stream can seek approval for their business proposal.  On approval, candidates get a letter of support from PEI and then can apply for a temporary work permit from the Federal government of Canada.


This stream also works on EOI based system and the lowest-ranked candidate in the June 20 had a score of 112 points.
