Within a month of the previous Expression of Interest (EOI) draw, province of Saskatchewan held a new EOI draw on July 24, inviting candidates from Express Entry and Occupation in-demand subcategories of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
In the latest July 24th EOI draw a total of 381 invitations were issued inviting them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada Permanent Residence Visa. Out of 381 invitations, 277 invitations were issued to Occupation in-demand subcategory registered candidates and 104 invitations to express Entry sub-category.
SINP’s Express Entry sub-category is in line with the Federal government’s express entry program that allows the province to search for skilled immigrants in the express pool. For express entry candidates to be considered for a provincial nomination from SINP, they are required to submit an EOI profile separately to SINP. EOI profile of the candidate will contain the information of candidate like education, work experience, language proficiency and among other major details. Based on these factors, SINP awards points to the EOI profile out of 100 points.
SINP’s Points awarded are different from the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points that are used to rank the profiles of the candidates in the express pool. In case an express entry candidate is able to get the provincial nomination certificate, they are awarded 600 CRS points that give a major boost to their CRS score. These many points make sure that the candidate is able to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Another SINP stream that sees the candidate getting an invitation is Occupation in-demand stream. This stream is for the immigrants who are having a minimum of required work experience in a field of work that is in-demand in the province. Occupation in-demand candidates must also register an EOI profile with SINP.
SINP evaluates the EOI profiles of the candidates based on the selection factors (SINP point assessment grid) and awards them points out of 100 points. Highest ranked profiles of express entry and occupation in demand registered candidates have then issued invitations through frequently held draws.
Cut-off scores for the latest EOI draw of July 24th was set at 74 points, which was an increment of 6 points from the cut-off of the previous EOI draw of June 20th.
This latest draw has brought the total number of invitations issued in the year 2019 for express entry candidates to 1,004 invitations and 1,473 invitations to Occupation in-demand candidates.
