Province of Manitoba issued a total 354 invitations to apply (known as Letters of Advice to Apply) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in the latest draw held on July 5th.
The latest round of draw issued an invitation to the candidates who have applied under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s subcategories: Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Workers in Manitoba and International Education stream. Other than the above LAAs, 91 LAAs were issued to the candidates registered under Federal Government’s Express Entry program. Express entry, a point-based program, manages the profile of the candidates registered under Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
For an express entry candidate to land a provincial nomination, they are awarded 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. These points guarantee the candidate to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
For express entry candidates to be considered for MPNP, first they are required to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile and must meet the minimum requirements that include a minimum of six months of recent work experience in an occupation that is in demand in the province. EOI profile of the candidates is required to have all credentials like age, language proficiency in either English or French, work experience, strong connection to Manitoba and among other major criteria. Based on these credentials, points are awarded to the EOI profile and the profiles with the most points are issued invitations through frequently held draws.
