Manitoba Invited 354 Immigration Candidates in the Latest Draw

Province of Manitoba issued a total 354 invitations to apply (known as Letters of Advice to Apply) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in the latest draw held on July 5th.

The latest round of draw issued an invitation to the candidates who have applied under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s subcategories: Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Workers in Manitoba and International Education stream. These sub-categories allow the province of Manitoba to nominate the skilled immigrants and international graduates of post-secondary institutions for the status of the permanent resident in the province.

July 5th draw issued invitations among the different MPNP’s sub-categories in the following manner:

  • Skilled Worker Overseas Stream: 248
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream: 85
  • International Education Stream: 21

Other than the above LAAs, 91 LAAs were issued to the candidates registered under Federal Government’s Express Entry program. Express entry, a point-based program, manages the profile of the candidates registered under Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

For an express entry candidate to land a provincial nomination, they are awarded 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. These points guarantee the candidate to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

For express entry candidates to be considered for MPNP, first they are required to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile and must meet the minimum requirements that include a minimum of six months of recent work experience in an occupation that is in demand in the province. EOI profile of the candidates is required to have all credentials like age, language proficiency in either English or French, work experience, strong connection to Manitoba and among other major criteria. Based on these credentials, points are awarded to the EOI profile and the profiles with the most points are issued invitations through frequently held draws.

The minimum score/points required for an LAA in Manitoba’s latest draw was:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 565
  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 594
  • Skilled Worker Overseas (Strategic Recruitment Initiatives) candidates: 619

With these LAAs, the total number of LAAs issued in the year 2019 has come to 5,333 LAAs.
