Manitoba Invites 180 Applicants For Permanent Residence in the Latest Provincial Draw

Province of Manitoba invited a total of 180 candidates who have applied for provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s categories – Skilled Workers, International Student Graduates, and Express entry for Canada Permanent resident Visa in a provincial draw held on November 7.

Through frequently held draws to invited candidates registered under MPNP’s from its Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education Immigration Pathways for to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) through a provincial nomination.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas invitations are issued through the Expression of Interest (EOI) score. These candidates are first required to create their EOI profile, which then submitted into the EOI pool of Manitoba. These profiles are ranked in the pool based on score that is awarded on the basis of the factors like education, work experience, language proficiency in English or French, connection to Manitoba and other major factors. Higher ranked profiles are then issued a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAAs) from MPNP and then submit their application for provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence.

In the draw held on November 7, 180 LAAs were issued as follows:

  • Skilled Worker In Manitoba: 133
  • Skilled Worker Overseas: 24
  • International Education Stream: 23

Express Entry candidates who are able to land a provincial nomination certificate are awarded 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. These many points effectively make sure that the candidate gets an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for PR Visa to the IRCC. For Express Entry candidate to be eligible for MPNP, they are required to have work experience in one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupation, among other major requirements. They are also required to submit a separate EOI profile to MPNP.

Skilled Worker Overseas Category of MPNP allows the province to select and nominate candidate who are having skills that are required in the local labour market.  For candidates to be eligible, they must have an established connection to Manitoba like close family or friends, previous work experience or education in the province or an invitation through one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

24 Skilled Worker Overseas candidate invited in the latest provincial draw had a minimum EOI score of 719 points

For candidates to be invited through Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category, they must be working in the province and have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer, among other major criteria.

Candidates under Skilled Worker in Manitoba invited in the latest draw had the minimum EOI score of 560 points.

Under International Education Stream, Manitoba graduates with certain in-demand skills may be invited.  There are three sub-categories under stream:

  • Career Employment Pathway
  • Graduate Internship Pathway
  • Student Entrepreneur Pathway

Province of Manitoba has now issued a total of 6,911 invitations through MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Worker in Manitoba and International Education Immigration pathway till this point in year 2019.
