Province of Manitoba invited International student graduates and skilled workers in the latest EOI draw that was held on Jan 2. A total of 186 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to immigrants who have applied for provincial nomination under MPNP (Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program) streams
Express Entry candidates were also invited in this draw, with 24 invitations went to candidates who have a valid express profile in the Express Entry pool. Express Entry program, a point-based system, manages the pool of candidates registered under Canada’s three major skilled immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class.
For an Express entry candidate to land a provincial nomination certificate, they are given a major boost of 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points, to effectively make sure that they get an ITA (Invitation to Apply) to apply for Canada PR Visa to the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada). To be considered for MPNP nomination, express entry candidates are required to have eligible work experience in one of the province’s in-demand occupations with other major requirements. They also have to submit a separate EOI with MPNP.
Candidates who have registered under Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas are also required to submit an EOI with MPNP. Candidate’s EOI profile is awarded points out of 1000 that are given based on the candidate’s credentials like education, work experience, strong connection to the province, language proficiency, among other major factors.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba’s registered candidates are required to be working in the province and must have a full-time permanent job offer from their employer, among other major criteria.
Lowest ranked invited candidate’s profile under Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream had a score of 534 points. Under Skilled Worker Overseas, the lowest-ranked candidate profile had a score of 708 points.
MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas category allows the province to invite skilled foreign immigrants who are able to meet the demands of the local labour market and support it.
Candidates are required to have a connection to the province that includes close family or friends, work experience in the province or previous education in the province, or an invitation through MPNP’s strategic recruitment initiative, among other major requirements.
Under MPNP’s strategic recruitment initiative through Skilled Worker Overseas, a total of 42 candidates were invited.
Under the International Education Stream, Manitoba graduates with in-demand skills can be invited. This stream includes a total of three sub-categories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway and Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
