September might bring New Online Expression of Interest for Quebec Skilled Workers Program(QSWP)

Ontario Human Capital Priorities stream

On 17th August, 2018, the Quebec government announced a new online portal called Arrima for Quebec Skilled workers program. The final version of the portal will be available in September and it is supposed to enhance the user experience.

The MIDI has so far not given an official date for the portal to be online but it is supposed to manage the profiles of immigration candidates whose applications have been submitted through Quebec Skilled Workers program(QSWP) new Expression of Interest (EOI)System.

On 2nd August, 2018, Quebec Government adopted the Expression of interest (EOI) based system

Quebec is one of the latest Canadian province to accept the Expression of interest (EOI) based Immigration system and with this there is no first come first serve basis of immigration for Quebec province. Under this system, one of the first step is to create a profile and then answer a series of questions related to immigration. The list of questions would generally include questions like name, contact details, family information, Quebec status, education, work experience, language skills and a valid job offer. It would be based on the answers provided by the candidates that they will be ranked.

All those candidates who meet the EOI requirement will be allotted the certificate of selection (CSQ) from the Quebec government and in this the main qualifying criteria’s will be age, language, education, work experience and area of training. After the approval from the government of Quebec and approval from the federal government is very important for immigration.
