NSNP Invites Nurses for Provincial Nomination in Latest Provincial Draw

Nova Scotia PNP Invites Nurses (NOC Code 3012) in the latest provincial draw held on May 22 for a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa

Nova Scotia in the latest provincial draw held on May 22 invited Nurses to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR Visa. Details of the eligibility criteria for the draw was released but did not specify the number of invitations issued.

In order to be eligible to get an invitation under the latest round of invitation, candidates need to have a minimum of three years of work experience under NOC (National Occupational Classification) 3012 – Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse. The minimum CLB (Candian Language Benchmark) level required was set at 8 for English or French in all four abilities.

Also for education qualification, they were required to have a minimum bachelor’s degree or have completed a post-secondary program for at least three years.  When applying, applicants must include copies of their language tests and proof of education, including an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) issued by a designated body if the degree or diploma has been obtained in a foreign institute.

NSNP conducted its latest draw through its “enhanced” stream – Labour Market Priorities Stream, that allows them to search for the skilled candidates in the federal government’s Express entry program.

Express entry programs are the major source of skilled immigration in Canada. It manages the profiles of the immigrants who have applied for Canada PR Visa through three major skilled immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

All the express entry profiles are then submitted together into the express entry pool, where it is ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). CRS points are awarded based on the candidate’s credentials like age, language proficiency, work experience, etc. Highest ranked profiles are then issued ITAs through frequently held express entry draws.

For an express entry candidate to get a provincial nomination they are awarded a major boost of 600 CRS points, effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
