Ontario invites Express Entry candidates through Skilled Trades and French Speaking Skilled Workers Category

The province of Ontario on 19th October, 2018 issued invites to the Express Entry candidates for the Permanent Residency(PR) status of Canada through Skilled Trades and French Speaking Skilled Workers Category. The invitations in the Skilled Trades Stream has been the highest so far of the year 2018 with 439 applications issued invites. With these invitations being issued the total number of Notification of Interest(NOI) issued this year has come to 1445.

For eligibility in the Skilled Trades Stream of Ontario province the candidate should meet the minimum language proficiency criteria in English or French language along with meeting the Stream’s criteria for selection. Also, the candidate should have a minimum of one year full- time work experience in a permanent job or equal amount of time work experience in a part-time job in the listed Skilled Trades list of Minor group 633 or Major group 72, 73 or 82 of National Occupational Classification(NOC) of Canada. However, there is no minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score requirement under the Skilled Trades Stream.

Further, to be shortlisted and picked from the Express Entry pool by the Ontario Province, the candidate should ensure that he/she have listed their interest in shifting and living in Ontario or “All Provinces and Territories” while creating the Express Entry profile.

For the French Speaking Skilled Workers in this draw, there were a total of 39 applications which were issued invites. Now, the total number of Notification of Interest(NOI)s issued in this stream has come down to 1316, with new draws happening in this category very frequently. This stream also doesn’t have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score requirement for selection just like the Skilled Trades Stream.

Remember, to be picked in either of the two categories the candidate should have an Express Entry profile.
