In a rather important development, and in a draw conducted recently, on September 19, the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island (PEI), through its Provincial Nominee Program (PEI-PNP), gave new Invitations to Apply (ITA), for a provincial nomination to applicants in its three immigration streams of Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact.
It gave a total of 122 invitations to applicants from the three streams.
While 109 invitations went to the Express Entry and Labour Impact stream applicants, 13 invitations went to Business Impact: Work Permit Stream applicants.
A breakdown of the exact number of Express Entry candidates, who received invitations or the minimum score, isn’t available.
PEI’s Express Entry Category – as the name suggests–is for those who have created a profile in the Express Entry system.
The federal immigration system administers the pool of applicants for the country’s three Federal High Skilled immigration streams:
To enter, through the PEI-PNP Express Entry route, make a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) profile, and express your interest in provincial nomination.
Your profile will get an EoI total out of 100 available, on the basis of education, employment experience, and ability in English or French language, etc. If you get a high rank, you will get an invite to apply for a provincial nomination, via the draws conducted every month.
As per the PEI-PNP, it’s for those Express Entry applicants who are residing and doing a job in the province.
Those who get a provincial nomination get an extra 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) total.
The Labour Impact Category of the PEI-PNP is an independent category with no links with the Express Entry system even while it has three EOI-based streams:
It’s compulsory that the applicants for the three streams are either doing a job in the province, or have a qualified full-time, long-term employment offer from a recruiter in the province, besides meeting some other requirements.
Since the start of 2019, and till date, the provincial immigration program has issued 1,031 invites to applicants in the two streams of Express Entry and Labour Market Impact.
The coming PEI-PNP draw is listed for October 17, this year.
PEI’s Business Impact: Work Permit Stream is for those qualified entrepreneurs from abroad, who have business rights or qualified management experience, want to invest in, and manage a business in the province.
While the Work Permit stream also runs on a points-based EOI system, the applicants, who were lowest-ranked in the September 19 draw, had a total score of 115.
Unsurpassed natural splendor, history, and Canadian culture—that’s PEI for you! No wonder, it attracts many soon-to-be immigrants despite being the smallest province in the nation.
One of the most preferred PNPs it allows the provincial government to provide nomination to people for Permanent Residence (PR) in the nation, if they fulfill the region’s specific labor requirements and economic needs.

Ever since I have spoken to Team Nationwide, I have received all kinds of support I have looked for, starting from transcripts to IELTS coaching, they have helped me with everything. I already have referred three of my friends to them because of the fabulous service delivered by them and shall be doing it in the future too.
Quality work and friendliness is why I decided to opt for Nationwide Visas for preparing my application for Permanent Residence in Canada. Today, my parents are proud of me for making the right choice, it has all become possible because of Nationwide.
Nothing influences me more than a recommendation from a trusted friend, I got reference for Nationwide Visas through one of my friends, who got his ITA with the help of Team Nationwide. They explained the documentation process in detail and made the correct recommendations that I cherish now.
Before initiating the immigration process, I was a bit skeptical, however, after having a word with their consultant who explained the whole process to me over the phone without trying to sell their service, I felt assured. I did not give it a second thought and initiated my immigration process. All the case managers at Nationwide Visas are well-versed with the process and never fall short of expectations whenever I walk up to them with any queries.
For the past 4 months, I had been struggling with understanding the immigration process and was looking for a consultant who could not only explain the process, but also guide me regarding what all options were available to me. So, after reading their reviews, I approached Nationwide Visas, and true to their reviews, they explained the whole process to me while also giving me clear information about the chances I had at securing Canada PR Visa.
