Province of Manitoba issued a total of 194 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada Permanent Resident Status.
Manitoba invited candidates that have applied themselves under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s categories: Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas, or International Education Stream.
193 LAAs were given to the candidates that have a valid express profile in the federal government’s Express Entry Program. Express entry is a point-based program that manages the profile of the candidates registered under Canada’s three major skilled economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trade Class, and Canadian Experience Class. With the use of a ranking system – Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), points are awarded based on the human capital factors like age, language proficiency, work experience, etc.
For an express entry candidate to land a provincial nomination, they are given a major boost of 600 CRS points. These many pointies effectively make sure that the candidate gets the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR Visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). For candidates to be considered for MPNP, they must have eligible work experience in any occupation that is in-demand in the province, among other major requirements. Candidates are also required to submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to MPNP.
Other 147 LAAs were issued to candidates registered under MPNP’s Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category. This category is for eligible temporary foreign workers in the province and international graduates of provinces’ post-secondary educational institutions.
To be eligible candidates must be working in the province and must have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer, and other major criteria.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba’s candidate that was selected in October 10th draw had the minimum score of 567 points.
Candidate with registration under MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas Category was issued 22 LAAs. This category allows the MPNP to invite directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which can include overseas recruitment missions organized by MPNP, often in association with provinces’ Employers.
Candidates under this category need to have a minimum of 718 points to be eligible for an LAA in the latest draw.
Another category under MPNP is International Education Stream. 24 LAAs were issued to candidates under this stream. There are three sub-categories under this stream: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
