With this EOI draw, the total number of invitations issued this year has come to 7,545 LAAs.
16 LAAs were also issued to the candidate registered under the federal government’s Express Entry Program. It manages the profile of the candidates who have applied for Canada PR Visa through Canada’s three major Economic-Class Immigration categories: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). With the use of CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) – profiles are ranked in the express pool. For an express entry candidate to apply for a provincial nomination, they have to submit a separate EOI to the province and are required to have work experience in one province’s in-demand occupation, among other major requirements. In case the express entry candidate gets a provincial nomination, they are awarded 600 CRS points.
For skilled immigrants to apply for a provincial nomination from MPNP’s both Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas categories, they must register an EOI with Manitoba. The candidate’s EOI profile is then awarded points out of 1000 points based on Manitoba’s point assessment grid. Higher scoring EOI profiles are then issued the LAAs to apply for provincial nomination.
In the latest draw, a lowest-scoring candidate to receive an LAA under Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream had a score of 542 points. Lowest-ranked candidates under Skilled Worker Overseas had a score of 559 points.
These two categories of MPNP allow the province to nominate skilled immigrants that are in-demand in the province’s labour market.
Candidates must have an established connection to the province such as friends or family, previous education or work experience in province, or an invitation through MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other requirements.
