Skilled Workers and International graduates invited in the latest Manitoba draw

Province of Manitoba invited a total 450 candidates who have applied for a provincial nomination for Canada Permanent residence visa through an Expression of Interest (EOI) draw held on June 20. Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to the candidates who have applied under the Manitoba provincial nominee program (MPNP) following streams:

  • Skilled Worker Overseas
  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba
  • International Education Stream

All the above-mentioned streams allow the province of Manitoba to nominate the immigrants with the skills and work experience that is required by the eligible employers of the province. This helps the immigrants to settle and work in the province as a permanent resident.

Breakdown of the invitations issued in the latest Manitoba EOI draw is as follows:

  • Skilled Worker Overseas: 323 LAAs
  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 101 LAAs
  • International Education Stream: 26 LAAs

With this latest draw, the total number of invitation issued to skilled worker candidates until now in 2019 is 4,979 invitations.

Candidates registered under Federal government’s express entry program were also invited in the latest round of draws. Candidates with a profile under Express entry program must have a valid job seeker validation code and work experience in an occupation that must be in demand in the Manitoba province. A total of 133 LAAs were issued to the express entry candidates.

If an express entry candidate is able to land the provincial nomination they are awarded 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. These many points give a major boost to the candidate’s profile and help them land the ITA to apply for Canada PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Following is the eligibility criteria for the candidates applied under other skilled overseas who have received LAAs in June 20 draw:

  • Had a close relative residing in Manitoba or past education or work experience in the province
  • Had at least 6 months of recent experience in an in-demand occupation
  • Minimum language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 unless work experience is primarily in a regulated occupation (minimum CLB/NCLC 7) or a compulsory trade (CLB/NCLC 6)

Via the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiative, another 35 Skilled Worker Overseas candidates were issued the LAAs. This stream of Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream is for foreign workers and international student graduates who are working in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent, full-time job in the province.

The very first step for skilled workers to apply under the Manitoba Provincial nominee program (MPNP) is to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI). For this candidate is required to submit their credentials like education, work experience, language proficiency and connection to Manitoba and other major details. Points are awarded to candidate’s profile based on these factors. Profiles with the highest score are invited through regularly held Manitoba EOI draw.

  • Minimum Score required for getting LAA in June 20th draw are as follows:

Skilled Workers In Manitoba: 475 points

  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 599 points
    • Strategic Recruitment Initiative candidates: 704 points
