The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has released the results of its latest Canberra Matrix Invitation Round, with a total of 559 invitations issued to eligible candidates. This round forms part of the ACT’s ongoing skilled migration program, offering nomination pathways through Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 visas.
Invitations are issued based on a pro-rata allocation, prioritizing the highest-ranked candidates in each occupation. Selection factors include Matrix submission date, occupation demand, and sector priorities.

The Canberra Matrix is a points-based system used by the ACT Government to select candidates for state nomination under the Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) and Skilled Work Regional (subclass 491) visas.
Applicants submit a Matrix online, scoring points based on factors such as ACT residency, employment, English level, qualifications, and ties to Canberra. The Matrix is ranked, and invitations are issued in regular rounds based on scores, occupation demand, and available places. Submitting a Matrix does not guarantee an invitation.
If invited, applicants have 14 days to submit a nomination application and supporting documents. If approved, the ACT nominates the applicant to apply for Australia PR via SkillSelect. The Matrix remains valid for six months if no invitation is received.
Accuracy in the Matrix is crucial, as false claims can lead to refusal. High scores and in-demand occupations increase the chances of selection. Regular updates are published on the ACT Government website.
