About Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of the primary immigration routes under the Express Entry framework. It is intended for individuals who possess previous skilled work experience in Canada and wish to apply for permanent residence (PR).

Major Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work Experience: At least 1 year of full-time (or an equivalent amount of part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the past 3 years. The work should be in NOC TEER levels 0, 1, 2, or 3.
  • Language Proficiency: Minimum CLB 7 for jobs in NOC TEER 0 or 1, and CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs.
  • Residence Status: Experience must be gained while authorized to work in Canada (e.g., on a work permit or study permit).
  • Education: No minimum education requirement, but having higher education can improve your CRS score.

Why Choose CEC?

  • Faster processing (about 6 months after ITA).
  • No requirement for proof of settlement funds if you’re already working in Canada.
  • Higher chances of selection in Express Entry draws since you’ve already adapted to the Canadian work culture.

Briefly, the Canadian Experience Class is best for foreign graduates and temporary workers who want to secure a long-term future in Canada.
