The latest Express Entry draw, held on September 29, 2025, issued 291 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 855. This represents a 109-point increase from the previous PNP-specific Express Entry draw that was released on September 15, 2025.
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
The table below outlines the details of the September Express Entry draw, which marks the 39th draw of the year and the 7th conducted this month. That includes:
| Date | Type of Round | Number of ITAs | CRS Score |
| September 29, 2025 | Provincial Nominee Program | 291 | 855 |
| September 18, 2025 | Trade Occupations (Version 2) | 1250 | 505 |
| September 17, 2025 | Education Occupations (Version 1) | 2500 | 462 |
| September 15, 2025 | Provincial Nominee Program | 228 | 746 |
| September 04, 2025 | French language proficiency (Version 1) | 4500 | 446 |
| September 03, 2025 | Canadian Experience Class | 1000 | 534 |
| September 02, 2025 | Provincial Nominee Program | 249 | 772 |
The latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific Express Entry draw has set a new benchmark for 2025, recording the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score so far this year.
Candidates selected in this round automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points through their provincial nomination, significantly boosting their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
This trend reflects a notable shift in selection strategy. In comparison, the previous PNP draws held earlier this month had lower CRS thresholds and issued fewer invitations. 228 ITAs were issued on September 15 with a CRS cut-off of 746, while 249 ITAs were issued on September 2nd with a CRS score of 772.
Today’s draw not only surpasses those rounds in terms of the number of ITAs issued but also raises the bar with a higher CRS score requirement. This shift indicates increasing competition among candidates seeking provincial nominations, a trend that aspiring immigrants should closely monitor.
The rising CRS cut-off suggests that provinces may be becoming more selective, targeting candidates with stronger profiles or those aligned with specific regional labour needs. Applicants are encouraged to stay updated on PNP streams, optimize their Express Entry profiles, and consider strategic options, such as securing a job offer or improving their language scores, to remain competitive.
