Express Entry Latest Draw Highlights

Draw Number: 360

  • Category: French Language Proficiency
  • Number of Invitations Issued: 2,500
  • Minimum CRS Score: 481
  • Date and Time: August 8, 2025, 15:36:25 UTC
  • Tie-breaking Date: July 18, 2025, 05:16:06 UTC

Why the Focus on French Language Proficiency?

Canada has set clear targets for Francophone immigration to build bilingual communities, especially outside Quebec. IRCC aims to:

  • Support economic growth in minority Francophone regions.
  • Increase the percentage of French-speaking immigrants who settle outside of Quebec.
  • Meet labour shortages as bilingual skills are in demand in specific areas.
  • Preserve and promote Canada’s linguistic diversity.

Express Entry's French language category gives skilled workers, who have shown an extremely high proficiency in French, a greater chance of receiving an invitation even with an appropriately lower CRS score than that required by the general draws.

Which Programs Were Considered Under This Round?

Candidates from three major economic immigration programs under the Express Entry latest draw:

1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

For skilled workers with foreign work experience who meet minimum education, language, and work requirements.

2. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

For individuals with recent Canadian skilled work experience, usually of a temporary nature, or recent international graduates transitioning to permanent residence.

3. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

Experienced tradespersons working in skilled trades that are eligible and usually supported by a job offer or certification in Canada.

What Happens Next for Invited Candidates?

Candidates issued an ITA in this round now have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence with the IRCC through their online account. The application shall include

  • Your language test results for French proficiency (and English, if applicable).
  • Education credential assessment (ECA) is required if the applicant studied outside of Canada.

  • All essential identity documents, including passports and birth certificates.
  • Police clearance certifications for every country where the applicant has resided for six months or more since age 18.
  • The upfront medical report with specified requirements by the IRCC.

Applications will be reviewed by IRCC for completeness, admissibility, and eligibility under the specific program. A Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) will be issued to successful applicants, allowing them to make arrangements for Canada immigration.
