On September 19th, Prince Edward Island (PEI) will hold its ninth draw of 2025 to continue inviting skilled labour to the province. The PEI Office of Immigration held its last draw, which took place under the Expression of Interest (EOI) system for the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Yet, 129 individuals were invited from the Express Entry and Labour streams. There was no minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for the September draw, which was beneficial to candidates. Following the June 19, 2025, draw, the PEI government announced that no further invitations would be issued under the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur category.
PEI continues to strive to address the province's labour shortages by giving preference to candidates who will benefit the local economy. The EOI system ranks applicants based on major factors, including language proficiency, education, work experience, and other factors that contribute to PEI's current economic status. This way, PEI can bring in the best professionals to promote growth and development within the province.

Prince Edward Island (PEI) ranks among the top locations in Canada to establish oneself, offering a welcoming atmosphere, lower living costs, and a government that prioritizes supporting newcomers in settling in the province.
In addition to being affordable, PEI offers a high quality of life with picturesque ocean views, low crime rates, and the slow-paced lifestyle that suits families and retirees. The PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) offers multiple streams for skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international students, respectively, making it a legitimate alternative to permanent residency.
However, there are numerous opportunities for new immigrants to thrive in the agriculture, tourism, and technology sectors, thereby appealing to entrepreneurial-minded individuals or those prospectively selling a business or farm before recreating a venture in PEI.
PEI prides itself on its education system and is home to the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), which offers a range of educational programs. Healthcare is accessible in the province only to individuals with permanent residency, which contributes to an individual's quality of life.
