Next Steps for Skilled Workers Targeting RCIP

For skilled workers aiming to apply through the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP), the first and most important step is securing a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of Ontario’s participating RCIP regions.

The job offer must align with an occupation listed as a local priority and meet wage, work experience, and language requirements set by both the community and federal authorities.

Once a job offer is secured, candidates must apply for a community recommendation, as each region independently assesses whether an applicant meets local labour market needs and settlement criteria.

A positive recommendation allows the applicant to submit a permanent residence application to the federal government.

Applicants should also prepare key documents in advance, including educational credential assessments, language test results, and proof of relevant work experience.
