The Graduate Entrepreneur Stream is for international students who have completed their studies at universities and colleges in Alberta and want to start or purchase a business in the province.

Program Eligibility and Requirements

• Language Proficiency: CLB7 or Above in English or French.
• Education: Completed a program lasting 2 or more years at an Alberta College or University. A degree or diploma is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years as a business owner, or 4 years in a senior management role.
• Ownership: 34% or greater with Canadian citizens or permanent residents as partners.
• Work Permit: PGWP Mandatory.

3. Alberta Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

The Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream is for international graduates who want to launch start-up enterprises and innovative businesses in Alberta.

Program Eligibility and Requirements

• Language Proficiency: CLB Level 5 or Above in English or French.
• Education: Equivalent college or university degree obtained from outside Canada. (ECA required)
• Experience: Minimum 6 months as a business owner or manager.
• Minimum Investment: $100,000 CAD (Urban Center), $50,000 CAD (outside Calgary and Edmonton)
• Ownership: 34% or higher (Urban Center), 51% (outside Calgary and Edmonton)

4. Alberta Self-Employed Farmer Stream

The AAIP-Farm Stream is for foreign entrepreneurs with the resources and experience to launch purchase and operate a farm in Alberta.

• Minimum Investment: $500,000 CAD
• Farm Management Skills: Financial documents describing current farm business, farm-related experience training, and education.
