Canadian Express Entry Next Draw Predictions 2020

Candidates who have applied for Canada PR Visa through Express entry program – The Fastest Immigration Pathway to PR Visa, eagerly wait for the express draw to know what is the latest minimum CRS score required to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA). If the candidate can clear the CRS score cut-off, they can submit their application for Canada PR Visa via the ITA to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

In this article, we will be observing the previous CRS scores in the year 2020 and help you to predict the minimum CRS required for Canada PR Visa in the next express draw.

CRS score Prediction for 2020

Predicting the next CRS score cut-off is not an easy task especially when seeing the previous express draws, the minimum CRS score required for a PR Visa has remained high. The CRS score cut-off set at each express draw held is affected by two major factors:

  • Time Interval Between two Consecutive express draws: It has been observed that when the time interval between two consecutive express draws is longer than the average of two weeks, the CRS score cut-off always gets increased. Having a longer time interval allows the express pool to replenish from more qualified and skilled express entry candidates. Also, if the time interval is less than two weeks, the CRS score cut-off gets decreased.
  • Size of express draws: The minimum CRS score required also depends on the size of the express draw. In case the number of ITAs issued is larger than the average size of the draws, it leads to the decrease in the CRS score cut-off.

As of August 4, 2020, following is the table that shows the current candidates present in the express pool respective to the CRS score range:

CRS Score Range Number of Candidates
601-1,200 519
501-600 390
451-500 26,471
491-500 239
481-490 647
471-480 5065
461-470 7940
451-460 8,380
401-450 40883
441-450 8,065
431-440 9,076
421-430 7,422
411-420 7,691
401-410 8,589
351-400 49,241
301-350 25,635
0-300 3,262
Total 142,161

But, there are chances for the CRS score cut-offs to come down to meet the target of admitting more immigrants according to the Canadian government’s three-year immigration plan (2019, 2020 & 2021). According to the three-year immigration plan, the government wants to increase the admission rate of skilled immigrants through its various immigration categories. Following table shows the admission targets according to the 2019-2021 Immigration levels Plan through economic immigration categories:

2019-2021 Immigration Levels Plan

Category 2019 Target 2019 Low 2019 High 2020 Target 2020 Low 2020 High 2021 Target 2020 Low 2020 High
Federal High Skilled 81,400 76,000 86,000 85,800 81,000 88,000 88,800 84,000 91,000
Economic Pilots – Caregiver 14,000 8000 15500 5000 4000 7000 To Be Determined
Economic Pilots – Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program 2000 1000 5000 4000 2000 5000 To Be Determined
Federal Business 700 500 1500 4000 500 1500 700 500 1500
Provincial Nominee Program 61000 57000 68000 67800 62000 71000 71300 67000 74000
Quebec Skilled Workers and Business To Be Determined
Total Economics 191,600 174,000 209,500 195,800 181,000 206,000 202,300 189,000 212,000

In order to meet the target of the three-year immigration plan, IRCC has to hold express draws in more frequency or have large express draws, which in turn can decrease the minimum CRS score required for Canada PR Visa.

Canada PR Visa with Low CRS Score in 2020
What if you are having a low CRS Score? Not able to meet the high demands of the Federal Government’s Express entry program, other ways can help you to apply for a PR Visa with a low CRS Score.

Two major factors that can help the candidates to get an ITA with lows CRS score are as follows:

  • Get a Provincial Nomination Certificate: For an Express entry candidate to get a provincial nomination certificate, it can get them a major boost of 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points. These many points effectively make sure that the candidate can get an ITA and apply for a PR Visa.
Some PNPs have invited candidates with low CRS scores such as Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) have invited express entry candidates with CRS score as low as 300 points.
  • Get a Job-offer: If the candidate can get a pre-arranged employment offer for a full-time skilled occupation, it can award those CRS points ranging from 50 to 200 CRS points depending on the NOC (National Occupation Classification) skill type of the occupation. Following is the list of occupations in Canada that can get you maximum 200 CRS points for a pre-arranged job-offer:
    1. Legislators (NOC Code 0011)
    2. Senior Government, managers, and officials (NOC Code 0012)
    3. Senior Managers – financial, communications and other business services (NOC Code 0013)
    4. Senior Managers – health, education, social and community services and membership organizations (NOC Code 0014)
    5. Senior Managers – trade, broadcasting, and other service note elsewhere classified (NOC Code 0015)
    6. Senior Managers – construction, transportation, production, and utilities (NOC Code 0016)

How Express Entry Works?

Express entry program was introduced in 2015 to manage the profiles of the immigrants who have applied for Canada PR Visa through three major skilled economic immigration programs:

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

All the profiles are submitted together in the express pool, wherewith the use of CRS, they are ranked in the pool. Through regularly held express draws, ITAs are issued to the higher-ranked profiles in the express pool. Express entry candidates have to submit their application for Canada PR Visa to the IRCC within 60 days of getting the ITA.

Summary
Review Date
Reviewed Item
There was nothing but good news will the release of Express Entry Draw this time. It was second time in a row when The IRCC invited 3,500 applications for the Canada Permanent Residency (PR) status. This massive number of invitations for the PR status is attributed to the fact that the qualifying Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points has been reduced to 441 CRS points. This means that all those candidates who have scored 441 points or above are fit to apply for the Canada PR Status. Further, the usual pattern of Express Entry Draw results being announced after every fortnight was followed by the IRCC. Also, the draws this year around have seen a huge detour from the pattern followed by the last year draws.
