For those planning on immigrating to Canada from Dubai, understanding the financial requirements under Canada Express Entry program is crucial. One of the most important documents is Proof of Funds (POF), which is a document showing your financial capability to settle in Canada.

This guide will help UAE residents understand the essentials of proof of funds: what it is, who needs it, how much is required, and how to show it accurately to ensure a smooth Canada PR Visa Process.

What is Proof of Funds Canada Express Entry?

It demonstrates that you possess sufficient funds to sustain yourself, as well as your family, once you have landed in Canada.

This requirement applies to you in case you are applying in Dubai without a Canadian job offer.

FAQ 1: What If You Have Your Money in a Joint Account or a Business Account?

Money in a joint account is okay as long as you can establish access and ownership. Business accounts will require audited accounts and a letter to the effect that you have access to and control of the funds.

FAQ 2: Is it possible to use UAE-based Assets as Evidence?

Yeah, the UAE bank accounts are accepted provided that the documents are in English (or officially translated) and have the relevant format. The money should, however, be readily available, and you should demonstrate that you are the sole owner.

Properties or vehicles cannot be accepted as POF, despite their high worth.

FAQ 3: When Do You Have to Provide Proof of Funds?

You will be required to provide Proof of Funds two times:

  • When you apply to PR (after receiving an Invitation to Apply);
  • Once more, upon landing in Canada

The money has to be there on both occasions; you cannot spend the money in between.

FAQ 4: What If You Lack the POF Requirement?

Failing to meet the minimum POF means that you will not be able to apply under FSWP or FSTP. Nevertheless, these are your alternatives:

  • Use the Canadian Experience Class in case you have recent Canadian experience
  • Obtain a genuine job offer in Canada from an employer
  • Research Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), which could have other (lower) financial requirements
