If an Australian state or territory nominates you, you are eligible for this visa. The benefits of this visa are the same as those of the Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189). The application criteria are identical, except that you must have prior experience in a Skilled Occupations List listed occupation.

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 Visa

This visa has replaced the Subclass 489 Visa as a path to permanent residency. This visa requires skilled professionals and their families to live, work, and study in defined regional locations for a period of five years.
