Quebec's biggest draw 2022: Invites 1,202 candidates

In the latest draw conducted on September 06, Quebec has invited 1,202 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The minimum Expression of Interest score criteria for this draw was 620. A maximum of 580 points under the Human capital score was awarded for this group of criteria which included the following factors:

  • Knowledge of French
  • Knowledge of English and French 
  • Age 
  • Professional Experience
  • Level of Education

The new draw is the 10th draw that was held in 2022. Quebec has been consistently conducting draws since the beginning of this year and till date a total of 3,843 applicants have received the invitation to apply for a permanent selection by the province of Quebec.

Candidates who applied under the Regular Quebec Skilled Workers Program and who filed an Expression of Interest in Quebec's Arrima Portal online registration got an invitation. The candidates who apply for Expression of Interest and get approved receive a Quebec Selection Certificate (QCS) which can eventually help them apply for a Canadian permanent residence with the Federal Government. 

What's the procedure for the Quebec Expression of Interest?

  • Candidates submit an online expression of interest profile through Arrima.
  • The expression of interest pool accepts profiles with a 12-month validity period, which are scored against one another.
  • For a Certificate of Selection under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program, periodic lotteries are utilised to choose the top candidates who receive high scores on the Quebec points calculator.
  • Candidates have 60 days to complete their applications after receiving an invitation.
  • After receiving approval and receiving a nomination certificate (CSQ), candidates can next apply to the federal government for permanent residence in Canada.

General criteria to apply through Quebec's Arrima Portal

Criteria related to human capital are as follows:

  • knowledge of French;
  • combined knowledge of French and English;
  • age;
  • length of professional experience;
  • level of education.

Criteria for the draw related to Quebec's labour needs

The following are the qualifications for candidates in relation to the demands of the Quebec labour market and government priorities:

  • employee diagnosis This can be combined with the amount of time spent practising the occupation
  • field of professional training
  • a Québec degree
  • duration of employment history in Quebec;
  • length of employment in the remainder of Canada;
  • confirmed job offer Depending on whether it is located on or off the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal's boundaries, this may be linked with the location of employment.
