Australia Spouse Visa Eligibility Criteria

You have to fulfil the following criteria to become eligible for the Australia Spouse Visa:

  • You and your spouse have to share a true commitment to lead a life together whether in a de facto relationship or legally married
  • The relationship has to be continuous and authentic
  • You and your spouse have to live together or plan to do so
  • You must be in the spousal relationship for a minimum period of 1 year that demonstrates cohabitation except if married lawfully
  • Usually, both partners’ age must be above 8 years
  • You have to fulfil the health and character criteria

Australia Spouse Visa Eligibility Criteria

A Spouse/Partner Visa consists of two stages. In the first stage a Provisional Visa is approved of the application is assessed positively. 2 years after the filing of the Provisional Visa, the partner/spouse can file an application for a Permanent Visa.
