Express entry program is Canada’s most popular immigration program and it is the fastest immigration pathway to Canada PR Visa. If you can meet the minimum requirements of the Express Entry program, then your profile is submitted into the Express Entry pool. Depending on your CRS score and the latest CRS score cut-off, you can get an ITA – Invitation to Apply to apply for Canada PR Visa.
The ITA is an automatically generated correspondence to Express Entry applicants via their online account. With an ITA, you can submit your application for a Canada PR Visa to the IRCC.
It is important to note that getting an ITA does not guarantee that you will get your PR Visa. Once you have submitted your application, it will be assessed by the IRCC and on a successful evaluation of your application, you will get your Canada permanent residency.
To get an ITA through Express entry program, you have to meet two criteria:
First, you must be eligible to register under any one of the three immigration programs managed by the Express Entry program:
Once, you are able to meet the minimum requirements of any one of these programs, you are able to create an express entry profile and get your profile submitted into the express entry pool.
Second, you have to clear the latest CRS score cut-off to get an ITA in the latest round of invitations.
Once you get an ITA, you have 60 calendar days to do any one of the following:
In case you do not reply to an ITA in 60 days, ITA will expire and your profile will no longer be in the express entry pool.
Update: Due to COVID-19, IRCC has given immigrants with total 90 days to submit their complete application.
There is no checklist for all invited candidates. The checklist may depend on the program you are invited to, your marital status, your nationality, your professional or educational background, or other factors.
Following is the list of documents that you have to submit a copy of with your application:
Also, other documents can be asked by the IRCC that varies from case to case.
The application submission process is entirely an online process and is known as e-APR (electronic application for permanent residence).
While submitting the application, you have to pay an application processing fee – CAD$825 for each adult included in the application. You also have to pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) – CAD $500 per adult and CAD $225 per dependent child.
Once you have submitted your application, you cannot make any changes to it. This where you need the expertise of an immigration consultant. An experienced immigration consultant will help you in all the aspects of the immigration process by selecting the right immigration program for you, sorting out your documents, etc.
